Like another 1-star reviewer, I bought this book thinking the soups would be low calorie yet full of flavor. That certainly wasn't the case.I made two of the soups, both of which were terrible. They were thin, watery, and flavorless -- and these weren't broth-based recipes that are tended to be thin. There are very few spices called for, and spices are essential for flavor when one is cutting out fat. I can't get rid of this book fast enough.It's not hard to take a good soup recipe and tweak it to reduce fat and calories. I suggest you do that and give this gimmicky book the swerve.

This is truly one of the most useful cookbooks I own! The recipes are short and uncomplicated, easy to make with generally easy to obtain ingredients -- often in interesting combinations that I would never have thought of -- and the ones I've made (and I've made a lot of them) freeze beautifully! My diet is plant-based, whole food, and most of these recipes are as well suited for this. The ones that are not can be made with acceptable plant-based substitutions. I have bought copies from alternative sellers (new and used) for gifts -- and I wish it were back in print again!

I've tried three of these recipes so far and they all turned out very good. Their preparations were simple and quick, and clean-up was easy. And, so good for you. My only complaint is that so many if the recipes involve a blender. If you don't own a blender or food processor, you need to get one for those fine, creamy soup recipes. I would also have liked to have seen more recipes using healthy cuts of pork and beef. Most of those that used meat were chiken soups. A few call for fish, and I would like to have seen more.

Truly a remarkable book that I've used for many years and now have on my Kindle for ready reference.The recipes are easy, nourishing, healthful and freeze well for later reheating.It gets me to use many veggies I probably would not have thought of using together, and the results are delicious!It's a book I use over and over again -- I wish it were back in print!

This is an awesome cookbook. If you are looking to lose weight and/or eat healthier...these soup recipes can indeed "save you". My husband has lost 28 pounds in the past few months by working out and having one of these great soups with salad almost every night!

There are a lot of different soup recipes which was exactly what I was after. Even better, they are simple and no nonsense. A good source for. New soup ideas.

This book has the most amazing soups, and surprisingly easy to follow recipes! Since so many canned soups or powdered soup mixes contain so much sodium and preservatives, I now prefer to make my own soup and freeze it in 8 to10 ounce containers for individual servings. The recipes in this book make healthy, low cost soups that are delicious! You may never go back to bland tasting canned soups again.

Great recipes, some kinda weird I would never make (dessert soup?) but over all good recipes, simple easy with not a ton of ingredients
