Good as I do a rather extensive group and camp for kids with deployed members.

I recently had the opportunity to hear Julia Cook read this book to a group of military families. After the event, I saw so many thank her for the work she'd done to create an authentic story that really connected to the realities of life in the military, and the things a family goes through when a parent is deployed.Julia Cook has a gift for taking hard subjects and making them relatable to children. And in these books, she's teaching children that problems have solutions, and they can overcome hard things.

Julia Cook is an amazing children's author. I was very lucky to be able to hear her read it. This book not only talks about having a missing piece but also the struggles of the service member returning in a way kids can understand.
